From my instagram feed! (found on a window in downtown Brooklyn)
Once you become familiar with hand lettering and type design, it’s hard to not start seeing it everywhere. Now when I go for walks in my neighborhood or travel, I have started looking for those beautiful and special examples of hand lettering on signage, menus, posters, food trucks, or anything really. I am using my instagram account (I’m under “cheerfuld”) to help me track these “typespotting” moments. Feel free to follow me there for occasional type finds, and maybe you’ll start seeing more of your own too.
In addition, I just stumbled upon a really beautiful site called The Everywhere Project. The site features a select group of designers, illustrators and letterers who are tasked to create luggage labels for each of the 92 locations featured in the song “Been Everywhere” by Geoff Mack. Check it out and fall in love with the idea of buying an RV and puttering around these here United States.
PS - A big THANKS to all 50 of you people who now follow this blog! You are all lovely.
